the new pump is here the new pump is here.... little excited
only had a short time today ... work then kids....
did remove the old pump and drained the gas.... disconnect hose from pump after first filter and drip drip... took off first filter and flowed like it should.... also one of the old clamps was quite loose... as soon as i started moveing the pump around ... pretty good leak... explains some things also i am sure.. gas looked clean with out a spec of debris .... popped off sending unit (new gasket came with pump)... looked cleaner than the dishes i will do tonight... yeah... found a clear high flow filter that is refillable ... and a new fuel filter.... gonna run the high flow before the pump for two days to see if any debris collects then remove for good and go without as suggested.... with a little help at the local hardware was able to re-create the rubber bushings that were shot that will hold the pump in place... got the banded hose clamps.. specific for fuel injection hose.... needy children.. gotta go... will update saturday as things progress

This is sounding good.
Don't stop working on the car to take care of the kids, put them to work!
(My son, now 21 years old at eight months).

Re: engine gets hot... engine dies
just got back from a spirited drive... WOW... what a diffference... throttle response is much better and never changes... held highway plus speeds for over an hour and then right to Rimrock Drive.... 20 plus miles of mountain driving.. into downtown stop and go for a while without a hiccup.... pressure gauge never deviated from the normal..... i mean just perfect the whole ride
who would have thought that proper fuel delivery would be so great..... thanks again..... Matt
hey my right turn signal is not working............................................................ onward

WooHoo!
You did good. We all know it can get frustrating trying to get something fixed. We've seen people give up and sell their cars, which is a shame, considering the help available here.
Good going.

Re: engine gets hot... engine dies
thanks Ron..... i have to admit it was, for me, very frustrating.... i figured out last night..223 miles and 9 breakdowns. because i would have to drive the car till it broke down then do my tests for trouble shooting ...that is what killed me... getting in the car knowing that it would fail and pushing the car to that failure point was unsettling....... it all seems so easy now...... i cant say enough how much i love this site and everyone on it.... enough gushing on my part.... going for a sunday drive in the mountains... and i can go as far as i want... tee hee.... mattrlux4 wrote:WooHoo!
