HOOD PADS

Post by Baz »

With the many issues about over heating in Spiders, how does the under hood insul pads help cooling ? Surely this would block heat loss, and increase under hood temps. They
look good tho.......

I think that the insulation/hood pad will provide a "little" sound insulation. Further, consider the pad/insulation to keep things cool above the engine like the hood itslef. Keep paint from discoloring or some kid from burining his hand because he touched a hood that was 180 degrees. Imagine the steam coming off the hood if you ever actually drove the car in the rain?

I think Tex hit it on the head. They probably do hold a little heat in the engine bay,but the trade off is damaged paint and increased engine noise.I recently put new hoodliner pads on mine, and I was shocked how much engine noise I could hear when I drove the car with the pads off
