Shipping an Engine-What's it weigh?

I'm considering shipping an engine from east coast to Calif. Anyone out there know the best way to do this reasonably or is it financially crazy. Also what's a complete 2L engine weigh or where can I find this out?

Best way to ship an engine is on a pallett. Shipped a complete 1438 from Cali to Texas. Dont recall the weight or price, been along time. Deivered to engine straight to the trucking company . i think it was abf trucking co.

No need to go to the east coast to find an engine. Check with Mark Allison.

i ran an example shipment on my company software and came up with the following scenario

shipping from Trenton, NJ to Compton, CA
one pallet containing one engine- average weight of 300lbs dry
NMFC description# 120970 - class-85 (internal combustion engine, used, Automotive or tractor)

dock to dock shipment

Vitran express-$ 223.27- (they take forever to deliver)
Estes Express- $ 337.10
Old Dominion- $398.60
USF Reddaway $ 497.33

this is an average and may change slightly do to weight, ship date, ETC....
