after market e brakes?

Post by 74ausfiat »

hey gang -

i pulled off my center console and painted it using some gloss black vinyl paint. i was going to re instal it tonight but i started looking at my emergency break and levers.

so the question is.

are there after market parts that i could use to replace the emergency brake handle? I'm guessing the levers that control air are too specific to this car to have after market parts.

but i was thinking any e brake handle would work.

thoughts? ideas ?

thanks!!!

what is wrong with the stock one? very rarely have i seen a problem with one, a few get bent and the rachet may fail. but replacements are abundant. or are you just looking to customize, which there is nothing wrong with that :)

I don't know how easy it would be to adapt, but they make lots of pretty ones for the hot rod crowd. Pick up a Street Rodder magazine.

I just wanted to customize!!!!!! Lol the plastic is chewed up. So all the polishing in the world won solve that.
Orr would it?! No. No it wouldn't!

Boy seems like dialing in the e-brake mechanicals on my 82' has always been a pain in the ass and not a long lasting "fix", where does the problem come from the linkage or at the caliper itself? Thanks
