Removing crayon from the windshield
One of the little twirps in the house decided it would be funny to scribble on the windshield with a crayon. Window cleaner doesn't seem to want to touch the stuff. Any suggestions?

Yup. I'm in the window business and the last thing we do on an install is clean the windows. We carry a razor scraper and use it all the time for the adhesive, grime and mystery spots that window cleaner can't get.

Re: Removing crayon from the windshield
It's tough to have nice stuff with kids around. My youngest several years back left a crayon on the floor in the previous suburban while parked outside in Texas summer heat. Alway nice to have crayola fused with your carpet. After cooling and scraping we used a brown bag and an iron. After about 30 passes with the iron and brown bags then we moved to carpet cleaner. Red crayon on a on a light grey interior and you could not tell.
if that happened in the Fiat I'd have to consider new carpet

I use a single sided blade to remove burnt on gunk from my ceramic stove top. The final bits of crayon you can also remove by using your finger nail. Tedious job. Take pictures and exact retribution when this little munchkin is a teenager.

Every time I find something broken/scratched/written-on/misplaced, I always threaten to take their college fund. But now I'm thinking the revenge will be sweeter if I afford them the opportunity to grow up, become successful and buy something really nice that I can vandalizenothingbychance wrote:I use a single sided blade to remove burnt on gunk from my ceramic stove top. Hey, you bought your car from Joe Amadio? Very cool! Used to live in Jeannette (out by the Bushy Run battlefield). I live up near Kittanning now. Small world!johndemar wrote:Just remember Jody, they'll be making decisions about/for you someday...

Yep, my first new car. I think the only reason it's survived is because I stopped driving it after the first 2 winters in PA then moved to the desert 29 years ago. It now shares time near Flagstaff in the summer and Phoenix in the winter, so I don't have to store it anymore. Last I heard Joe wasn't doing well, but that was several years ago.JammerX19 wrote:Hey, you bought your car from Joe Amadio? Very cool! Used to live in Jeannette (out by the Bushy Run battlefield). I'd think that a squirt of WD-40 would work on the windshield, followed by soap and water.
