The bill was about 2,400 and unfortunately the oil stains come from a couple of leaks on the Fiat. Runs great so I've been hesitant to replace the cam tower gasket as they never end up going back together the same way they come apart. I'm afraid I won't get a car that starts on the first spin of the starter 100% of the time. Regardless, now I'm motivated to tear into the engine this winter.

With 150k miles, I'm also afraid I won't know when to stop tearing down.

BTW, I did get cheaper quotes, but went with the restoration shop that quoted the highest price, but also instilled the most confidence. They had a lot of classic cars in the shop and described in detail how they were going to match the 30 year old paint. Even talked me out of a complete respray saying I should keep it original, and they would make it look brand new again.

Best thing you ever did! (well.... probably not. but at least as it relates to your dented car  )

Alpine has been doing great work for years. they've done work recently on my Benz & Jag. But moons ago, they did work on my Corvair and my '41 Ford,

But for some reason they've never touched one of my fiats?
weird.
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!
