Panhard Rod

I spent several hours this afternoon putting the springs and shocks bock on the passenger and driver side on the rear. When I finished I went over and pulled my new Panhard Rod out to install and guess what, the stud that is on the drivers side of the axle is to big. The diameter of the stud is .588 and panhard rod has an opening of .466. Has anyone ran into to this before ? I am thinking about just putting the rod in a mill at work and open it up to the same diameter of the stud.

Just another day working on the car.....

Don't have time ( coach girls softball ) or resources to get back on the road this year, but hey... its the journey to the end that makes it worth it.

Dumb question, but ... Are you sure your new Panhard rod is the correct one for your axle? There were two distinct versions during the Spider's lifetime.

Ther was a straight one and one with a small bow in it for the rear access to the pumpkin right ? I matched it up with the old one ( except for the hole sizes ) before I threw the old one away. My mistake.

On my 80 ,one is bigger then the other ,Mine has a slight bow
