solid rear axle and looks like Mark's headers. Alot of time and $$$ went into that car, does look good though. Those carbs look huge.

I thought Abarths had an independent rear suspension and a rear anti-sway bar.

I'm pretty sure that is the same 79 that was build as a tribute race car. Was build by someone on the west coast and was sold last year I think. Can't remember the website, but there were quite a few photos and info, there's also some youtube videos of it in action. Yes, alot of money was sent to build it.

They say that 65,000 Euros where invested and that it is not yet street legal in Germany.
They also say that a lot of knowledgeable people looked at it and could not say for sure if it is an Abarth or not.

Then those who looked at it don't know what the Abarth one was. The entire front and rear suspension was completely different on the Abarth version. This car is exceedingly nice, but it is certainly not a copy of the Abarth aside from the shiny bits one sees on the outside. Wonderfully prepared and fitted out without doubt

The primary suspension differences were the completely independent suspension using Chapman struts in the rear and an entirely different approach to the lower A arms on the front suspension. This car uses the rear axle from our cars with nicely heim jointed arms and an apparently beefed up front subframe for the front lower A arms but all in all its just a standard car made to look like an Abarth on the outside.

Seems those knowledgeable people arent very knowledgeable. Didnt think for a second that it was an abarth.
