I changed the starter in the fiat. So it starts now.(thanks for your help everyone) I took a few of my friends for a ride they all loved it and much pizza and soda was consumed, what an awesome way to spend a day with friends.
As for the starter, it wasn’t totally up to the horror show hype I expected it to be. We started by taking the wires off the lugs. Then removed the blots holding it on, I was shocked that this needed every wobble extension both me and my friend had. I then loosened the top bolt on the alt. then pushed it all the way up to the block. After that I rotated the starter till the solenoid faced the frame rail. Then it slid up and right out of the engine bay. The space from the alt to the intake was just big enough for it to fit. Be careful I managed to break off a spade terminal from the alt. but the removal process took much less time then breaking the 3 bolts loose even with fixing the broken wire.
I can’t say if that would work on every spider but it really didn’t take long at all.
here is a picture of it working
My friend also found a few mouse skeletons in way up under the dash…might explain the blood.
Had a good day
