Wow that's a spring! How did you re compress it?
1978 Spyder 1800 make that 2L! Finally making real progress!

the spring isn't all that strong actually. I cut mine up to fabricate the booster delete plate for my car, and I could easily control the booster with my bare hands and open/close it without struggling. It's a big spring, but it isnt very heavy gauge steel

very true the spring might be 30lbs
holding it together and sliding it back to origanal placement
was the hard part

theres 12 places to line up and keep tight while drifting it back
as i thought when going in
"tuff but DOable"

what do i do remove the bolts?

thanks matt
it was a bit low
i read in the book remove plug
oil should be 1 inch below the top of case
then replace the plug

the foam seal was not quite sealing,so i trimed the old diaphram and glued it to the firewall

after i put it all together it was time to bleed the system.
the fluid was quite old

did you bleed the crap out of it after?
and be sure all the copper washers are sealing

Joe, the booster is still leaking by, at the moment Im running with no booster. Brakes are great just no power assist. It has the same hiss from the booster as it had before I replaced the diaphragm. I don't like any vacuum leaks so I disconnected it.
