Engine locations

Post by zappi »

Hi all. Its been a while. Knee surgery has kept me out from under the car but now the time has come. Old man winter is starting go to sleep again, so I better get cracking. So on that note, I went to start her up the other day and well the starter that I knew was going (yup you guessed it)went. So I jacked up the car and pulled her out. Bad solenoid. My rebuilder will have it back in a day or two. All this is ok so far, now comes the " YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING"part. Here is a brief history first. I just bought the car(1980) last August and figured out soon after that the orinal engine had been replaced. To my dismay the engine is from a 1974. So now I need to find an engine preferably locally.

The car has no rust though. In Canada thats rare.

Speak to you soon everyone.

you don't really need to replace the motor just because it's a different year model. If it runs okay, just go with it. Each of the various displacements have their specific characteristics. I'd drive it and snatch up a 2L when you find one at the right price and location
