Weelan, I need a nut for a stud. So I suppose if I measure the OD of it I can do the same.

Thanks124. Will see what I can do! I'm going to get it on! I want to start it up!!

On a side note, I just posted in my blog. You can read about my welding adventure. Which went surprisingly well.

Okay. So the four studs on the gas tank are M8 and the rear studs on the rockers are M5. My rocker isn't lining up right. I have the IAP 93321

http://www.international-auto.com/index ... sid=891186

They were given to me with the car, so I have to make them work. There is no returning them. I know a lot of guys didn't like the fit of these. Has anyone made them work? It seems like they are a little fat up front and that keeps them from being pushed up high enough for the front screw to line up with the hole. I could use some sort of tutorial...

Tomorrow I try to start up the engine. I don't know for certain how long it's been since this car has been started. Probably 6-10 years. I've changed the oil. I've put mystery oil in the cylinders, let it sit for a while and then turned the crank manually. Does anyone have any other suggestions when starting these FI cars? Should I put some cleaner in the gas? I know I'll need to run it for a while to burn off gunk in the engine. It's not ready to take for a drive yet, so I'm not too concerned about the transmission etc...

In my FI I have only put two additional treatments; SeaFoam & Lucas FI cleaners. In all fairness my car had not sat that long (3-4 months)

I may have to wait for treatments since I won't be filling the tank. I was just thinking about it. I changed the oil, put in the plugs, put in new wires and put in a new timing belt.

I know someone told me before but I can't find it. I think this is supposed to clip on the side of my engine block somewhere?? I can't find it:

Well I still don't know what the brown clip is, but my car runs without it...

New blog post about starting the car yesterday:

My clock works!

I will need to bypass my heater core for now until I can afford a new one. Hope it's not too hard to get out. My whole interior is out right now, so that should help.

That looks like the conector to the thermotime switch located under the intake. A pia to get at. If you have a ring on, take it off before trying to put the conector back on....the 12V on the starter happens to be right in the vicinity as well. (after the sparks flew,I managed to get my ring off before the blister came up)

Woo!! It's in! Thanks for the pic 124. Been feeling up my engine for a while. Could that have been one of my causes for my overheating? I know burping was part of it as well. I should have drilled a hole in my stat too... I just let out some fluid, maybe I can get the stat off and put that 1/8" hole that everyone talks about.

Who has a fire extinguisher installed that doesn't put it on a roll bar? Is there a better spot than the trunk? Not that I expect fire, but I would prefer to be prepared.

I just took off the big plastic fan unit under my heater core. Very easy to get off with nothing in my car. Now I just have to figure out which bolts to undo. Pretty sure it's just the four on the side. I think there's four. I need a stronger light.

Woo! Just got back from a car show. Met up with a forum member who kindly drove their car up my way so I could take a look. Granted, it was a 1972, but a lot is the same! Got to look at some sills, rockers and trim! Now I just have to get mine back together.
