That's interesting, 124spiderman. I thought the '73 had rectangular side clearance lights, and that the pre '72 cars had the small round ones. Was you car an Oz original that was different from the North American cars? Or am I wrong?

You are spot on Courtenay. We never got the spiders down here. Only coupes.
It was an imported north American model converted to right hand drive.. You can tell by the flat bonnet or hood. I had the side markers removed when it was re-painted. I personally think they look better with the small round ones.
Since the pic was taken I've now replaced the bonnet (hood) with the Euro spec "powerbulges" type.

the little button lights are pre 70. 70 had large side markers with a light and reflector as 2 pieces. that lasted one year before they went to the small rectangular ones.

several ways to post a pic. can use any of the free on-line photo sites. (photobucket, etc). I like to use Hosting Bytes! 2.0. just browse for the pix, upload it. copy the link and paste it in your thread. With this site, there is a size restriction (700 pixels wide). if you want to see the whole pix.

This was our very first ride home as new owners...I've purchased a Slatted Grille which will be the only exterior change I'm gonna make (famous last word$)...

Re: can everyone post a pic of their spider?
Here's my 74'.
The short story.
Originally sold new by Imports of Stockton in March 1975 to Ruth of Berkeley.
In 1991 I bought it off the second owner Christine from San Fransisco and had the Spider shipped to me in Sydney.
Top photo is at an all Italian car Concorse called Auto Italia held in Canberra each year.
Bottom photo is at Wakefield Park where we love to play.

Hey Lee did the chrome around the gauges come like that or you installed them yourself? if you did where did you buy the rings from.

Re: can everyone post a pic of their spider?
chrome bezels were stock on pre 70 spiders and coupes. I thinks the normal suppliers still have them.
Re: can everyone post a pic of their spider?
Had this 78 for about a year. Unbelievably it has the original paint. New top and and a few other upgrades but mostly original. Very fun to drive. Lots of good info here. Thanks to many.
