We have recently become aware of an issue relating to late model Fiat 124 fuel filler hose (our SKU # FU5-485). This item is manufactured by Mackay and also sold by many other Fiat parts suppliers throughout the world.
It appears that the manufacturer produced a limited number of these hoses which are not fuel / fuel additive resistant. Your fuel filler hose should have the code 51XH9KLA and NOT 51EE9KLA printed on the actual hose. If your hose has the code 51EE9KLA, please contact the company where you purchase the hose.
The manufacturer representative feels that there is no danger, but we all agree that we should proactively replace any hoses which may be in question. We have already contacted our customers. If you have purchased this hose in the past from another vendor, please contact them as soon as possible.
And again, if you fuel filler hose is marked 51XH9KLA there is no concern.
