In the right corner...

We can see a button for Paypal donation. This forum has been really useful to me and I'm pretty sure to you too. We shall donate a bit everyone. What have you today for 5 bucks? A big latte from Starbucks? How much did you save with advices from the forum? I made my point, it's up to you people. Go go go! :D

thanks to both of you. :) Donations so far during this fund drive have fallen short of the expense of keeping the site online

Well if donations are still short, then we all just need to make a second donation! Sending it now, great site, worth its weight in gold. Thanks.

we're trying to avoid membership fees, paid ads, etc. From my own point of view, it's nice to navigate a site that isn't cluttered with ads. Thanks again to all of you that have donated.
On a related note, I believe Evan still has the books for sale that he mentioned in a post. Some of these are pretty rare and nice bits of Fiat memrobilla.

I know that membership fee s@*ks and will kill in the end the site but it may be replaced by something else. Only people who have made a donation or bought a promotional item may post in the sale/wanted section. We all know that a web site isn't free at all. Publicity can be inserted in the web site. It's simply a choice of banners. Something with good design and only one by page. Information will allways be prominent but we can allow 5 % of the page to a publicity. Allways at the same place. It won't hurt us, trust me. All the well known sellers will be pleased to participate. Add to that, chrome shop, CNC shop, salvage yard, etc. I'm pretty sure you already know all of them. :D Anyway, keep on the good work Mark.

Thanks Everyone!

Hey folks, just got back from a much needed vacation in which I was 100% off-the-grid. No e-mails, cell, phones, nuthin'. Which is the way I like my vacations! When I got back into 3G range I was pleasantly surprised with all the donation activity. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has pitched in. Last year we made the year's expenses within about a month of the support call. This year, we've been running a little slower and I was getting kind of worried that we may not get it covered.

We've had a few folks (I'll protect their privacy here) that have really kicked in big time with multiple donations, even some of $100 - $150. Our annual costs vary, but with the traffic we have now and the dedicated server we're on, we generally need to raise about 3-4K per year. We're about $1500 short right now, but I also know that donations do come in throughout the year and that helps a lot.

I really want to emphasize that any amount is valuable! Shucks, if everyone that uses this site just kicked in $5 or $10, we'd be in great shape. So to Babu's point at the head of this thread, hit that button for 5 or 10. It really does add up and make a difference.

I have not charged a fee for this site for more than 15 years now, and am not planning on it. Donations are the way to go to keep this thing going.

Thanks again to all of you that have kicked in - much appreciated! And if you're reading this and you have not pitched in, hit the button, doesn't matter what the amount is, pitching in is what counts.

Thanks,
Evan
