Model year confusion

Post by FiatFever »

Another VIN inquiry. I'm new and am looking for some expert help. Have found historical info concerning engines by model year, and don't seem to match the model year of my title.
Would like to know with confidence what size engine and model year my car is.
Considering I'm into this complete restoration project , it's time.
Also any other info from the tags is much appreciated.

I think it's a 71 ?
The Vin tag reads as follows :

IGM
124 BS1. 0054315

Motor. 125 bc .040
Engine

A 183678

Paint color. 294. Did find this as the orange.

VECI TAG
..MOD 12 Sport Spider 1600
Engine family 125. CID 98.13

Here is a link to IAP's model identification page.

So yours would be a 72 BS1 w/ the 1608 engine,
Inside the drivers door should also be a ID plaque with the actual build date.
