Recently picked up a couple of new wood dash pieces for the glove box and guages as I had a mis-match between the shifter piece and all others; I have a '77 that was converted to an automatic & the panels that I recently bought are of the 5 guage variety - I believe they are from the 78-82 but am not sure.
Does anyone if all the automatics had the same wood color at the shifter panel? The ones that I bought are darker than the shifter but it could be due to fading. Also, does anyone have any idea on how many different varieties of the wood fit the 5 gauges? Is it just one color or multiples? I'll try and figure out how to post pictures to show what I have.
Any help is much appreciated.
Wood Dash Question
Re: Wood Dash Question
i have seen 3 different shades,i have a shifter piece in good shape but you need to post a picture first. i will trade even up if your is just as good. mine is getting covered so shade doesn't mater to me.but I need to let me know before the week is out its going in a customers car.email me at grittracing@gmail.com.
side note, if your wood is faded try this, fine steelwool them (off the car) clean with alcohol. wait to dry than spray with clear gloss a couple of coats.

Re: Wood Dash Question
the console wood for an automatic has a different shaped hole around the shifter
Re: Wood Dash Question
OK - it just hit me; the glove box and dash wood that I bought is from 1983-1985 and not from 78-82 as it came in Pinninfarina packing and explains the two missing pieces between the guages and glove box.
