1981 Fiat Spider 2000 - What am I doing!? LOL!!
Re: 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 - What am I doing!? LOL!!
Alright. I need to replace my washer hoses. 2mm and 4mm
Anyone know if I can get away with 1/16 and 1/8? I don't feel like placing and order and paying shipping. I just want to go out and get them at the auto store or hardware store.

I would anticipate it should work. As long as they fit on both ends, then you are good. Any idea if silicone vacuum hoses can be purchased other than the usual suspects ? I too enjoy the joys of no shipping/customs/duty etc fees.

Jay,
I think, but not 100% sure, that Greenline Industrial had some silicone hose when I was looking for some other hose. I believe that the pricing was similar to Auto Ricambi, so I just bundled them into an order with other parts so I wouldn't have to think to much about the different required diameters.
Here is a link for you, http://www.greenlinehose.com/
We have another local hose supplier in town, Goodall. http://www.goodallonline.com/home.htm
If you go to the "locations" button you can see if either supplier has a location close to you.

I have to do some welding near the gas tank before I fill it up. Also, I'll be putting all the wires together on the interior this week.
Anyone know how all the wires run? I think I can figure it out, but if anyone has any pics of everything stripped out other than wires and switch thingies... and stuff... Also need some ideas for my metal tabs. I don't have all the black sleeves.

Re: 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 - What am I doing!? LOL!!
was there supposed to be some sort of adhesive strip on the metal beam under the back seat?
Re: 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 - What am I doing!? LOL!!
I'm putting my wires and such back. I don't have all the black plastic covers for the metal tabs. Any suggestions? Did the gas lines have rubber on them too?

So the gas lines just have bare metal straps?
I thought of electrical tape. Was just wondering if there was an option I wasn't thinking of. Thought about Heat shrink tubing etc... but that could be pricey and a bit over kill.

Yeah. I thought of that too. A bit pricey. I'm leaning towards tape.

In our area we have Menards home improvement box stores. In their electrical dept, around where you would find electrical blade connectors, electrical tape and the such I've found smaller portions of the liquid rubber meant for use as liquid electrical tape. More $ than a spool of electrical tape but cheeper than a can of the handle dip. Comes in various colors. Can't say I've seen it any where else though.

Ooooooooooooo. Mini version. Thanks for the heads up.

Kudos to the Liquid Tape, used that on my boat trailer since the lights were dipping into water... 8 years and never an issue. If it's hot outside, though, it can be a bit runny and messy.
