There may be a pattern here, but any DC Fiats event that features adult beverages seems to draw a crowd This weekend, it was a scenic drive followed by lunch and a tasting tour of Flying Dog brewery. Despite iffy weather, 15 Fiats (and one Falcon convertible) were treated to dry roads and Spring temperatures.
Ultimately 40 folks arrived at this craft brewery in various vehicles. Flying Dog moved their operations here from Colorado a few years ago. We did not make much of a dent in their 250 million gallon annual output, but participants got to taste six beers of one's choice.
Following lunch and tasting, we were offered a tour of the brewery, normally closed on Sundays, which opened their doors exclusively for our group. Here we are learning about and tasting "wort".
The event was conceived and planned by John and Cathy Frawley, two of our newest members. The club has been very fortunate to have new members involved with enhancing and expanding the club, now over 200 members. I hope to see some of you at our next event, a spirited drive through the Catoctin Mountains of Western Maryland and Virginia. This easternmost edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains provides breathtaking views (particularly if you're following Carl in his banzai 128 ). http://www.dcfiats.org/events/
