Rear window rubber

Post by kbee00 »

I removed the windows on my convertible frame and now cannot find replacement rubber pieces. The originals were destroyed during removal - assumed they could be purchased. Not so sure anymore. Has anyone removed their windows and if so, what did you do to replace the rubber holding them in?

Second question - can I put an early bow style frame into a later bow style car? Will there be a problem lining up at the front window frame? My '79 frame was is much better shape than my '82 - yes, the '79 is the early type....

Thanks for your help

Im pretty sure the frame has to match the front bow. If you change the bow, you need to swap the frame.

Understood. So can I take the entire frame/bow from a 79 (CS1) and put it on an 82 (CS2) car. Will there be an issue at the window frame?

I am not aware of the side window gaskets being available. Just use silicone.

yes you can interchange top frames from all years, just have to order the correct top for the year of the frame.
67-78 or 79 or 80-on at least that was the selection the last time i ordered a top. mine has lasted 10 years outside, too bad amco doesnt offer tops anymore
