First abarth in the nation

Post by boogiedude »

My good friend Joe has placed his order for his abarth and according to the owner of the dealership in Honolulu, is one of the first people that have been able to do so. Orders aren't being put into production yet, other than special circumstances. It pays to have friends in high places :P He's having it white on white, almost completely debadged to make it as unassuming as possible. He also has Prima #171

Hm, well, Jeff (Sptcoupe) has placed his order months ago, and has received a letter a week ago that they are building his car.

A friend in Florida wanted to order one, but the dealer insisted on a $700 premium, which he is not willing to pay.

Just learned today that the car has been released from storage status (what they call "JS status" - nothing to do with "Jeff Scheferman") and can now be placed on a rail car for delivery any day, along with one other to be delivered to another member of the Houston FIAT group! Really anxious to get my hands on it, which could be a matter of just a few days!

I have had a deposit on the car for 8 months, and had to accept a black one to get one of the first to be delivered. Happy to report that the dealer priced the car at $22,500.00 base. I got the leather seats, safety and convenience package, and the GPS/Sirius, for $24,200.00. The optional wheels were not available, as this is one of the three cars the dealer is getting for demos, that they are selling to me and one other, so they would only build it wth the stock wheels.

This dealer is especially active and enthusiastic about the marque. I know about the other Abarth ordered by a club member, but I think he has others on order as well. From what I read on this forum, this guy may be the exception in terms of delivering excellent service to his customers. We're lucky to have him here in Houston!

Would love to see a video of the Abarth on the track where you ran your 124 Coupe.

Same here... The wait is the killer...

I hope that at least the demos get in... Sales person told me that their demo is built and waiting delivery...

Here is mine, in a different tracking system, still showing in the system with the same status...

And what our first Abarth should look like (but with black leather seats instead of red):

And, if everything goes well... what our second Abarth should look like (mine!!):

For those that want to track your cars build...

Use these links:

On these just use the last eight digits of the VIN or the VON:

https://www.fiatusa.com/vots

https://www.chrysler.com/vots/

On this one, replace the VIN in the link with yours (sorry, no input screen on this one... ) Copy to notepad, edit the vin, paste in your browser and voila! :

Mine is now in Final Inspection!!
