Most likely it is for oil slick or machine guns, either way never push the red button

I think sometimes folks put an override switch on the rad because maybe their automatic switch/wiring doesn't always work? That way if the heat climbs a bit much they can just turn on the fan. Not a bad fail safe.

Hmmm... what other switches are in my car that I can use this on?

Just clicked through your thread. Great progress! Lookin really nice!

Although I am holding a little grudge... My floor pans are basically rusted out. They make me a little nervous actually. I just got the car so I haven't looked into fixing that yet, not excited about the $$$ it's gonna cost to fix them. Anybody replacing them yourselves?

I know there are threads about replacing them. I was very lucky not to have much rust on the interior. Especially with the hole under my cowl the way it is. How bad are they? Some people grind it all out, sand it and rivet panels on. Then seal it all up with POR. There are many methods. I'm a little crazy and more than likely would buy new pans and weld them in if it was bad. But I have a welder... so...

Ya... they're pretty bad. I have several holes. someone, i think the owner before the previous owner, put in some patches and just used metal screws to hold them down... I'd love to just weld in new ones, I trust one big uniform sheet welded in place more than multiple panels stuck to still rusting old panels. but I don't have a welder, and I've never done it before. Welders could be rented right? I have a friend that does metal work, I could just hit him up and see if he'll help.

Hit him up. This thin metal is tough if you don't know what you're doing. If you rent one, make sure you have a bunch of spare metal to practice on first.

Just layed out the glass. No air bubbles. A little more resin than I'd prefer, but I couldn't find my hard roller:

Will do.

Looks good. gonna sand it down to get through some of the resin or leave it?

You should really sand any resin if you're going to paint it. A wax rises to the surface of most resins which decreases adhesion.

i bought a welder three yrs ago new $100
i didnt know how but youll be surprised at how much you do

i welded up a ramp for my low buck trailer
the metals wernt similar so it didnt go easy"but it went"
and isnt pretty and a few bolts to hold...

doing sheet metal is what mine is for
theres better and better styles
you want good metal to good metal
the cleaner the best
if you can afford a wleder that has a tank for gas"get it"

patch work may include forming shapes with hammers and saws
rivet work it first"to pin it in place they sell temp style rivets
start slow two inches apart spots
when cooled go beteen them
then do short lines
grind it all smooth
and go over any spots
grind that smooth
and paint both sides

you must be aware of all things on the back side
or you need the fire department!!

i hope this helps

Thanks a lot! That actually does help a lot. All, useful info. I need to fix the floors soon, but I don't really want to yet... Probably should be the next thing I spend serious money on though.

Alright. All glassed and primed under the cowl. Tomorrow I do a second coat of silver in the interior and I might try and tackle one of the missing rocker brackets near the rear tire. Azygoustoyou (who seems to have disappeared from the forum) sent me two pieces to weld on. I'm really looking forward to getting that part done. Once those are welded on and rockers squared away I can fill her with gas and fire it up. Anyone have picture of sills, trim and rockers? Mine don't seem to fit all that great and I can't figure any of it out. I didn't take the car apart so who knows? I know the rockers are from IAP.
