centre console assembly

Hi, does anyone have a diagram or photos of the upper centre console showing the exact assembly. I am a bit confused as to how the cigarette lighter and hazard switch fit into the console as it does not seem to finish very nicely through the wooden vinier. Forgot to take photos prior to stripping the car about 18 months ago. Thanks

Thanks a million...........helped plenty cause now I know that the metal housing goes on the front side before the venier is glued on. What I dont know is whether there is some type of edging which finishes the switches off on the vinier panel itself cause it looks really ugly and unfinished at the moment.

How do you get the cigarette lighter out? LOL. I can't figure that out.

On mine there was a sleeve on the back side that screwed onto the body. Unscrew that and you can pull the lighter through the front. Hopefully yours has a connector for the wire - mine didn't so I had to cut the wire to get it out.

There should be a lip around the lighter that covers the edge of the hole to give it a trimmed out look.

I'll give it a shot. Mine did have connectors. My bulb however, was destroyed so I have to figure out how to wire in a new one.

Looks like you twist and pull. Mine just keeps twisting and nothing comes apart.

Hmmm... first off. I think mine is shot. Secondly... I don't think my green part can come out of the hole. The black bulb holder is much taller then the one in your image. Can I just throw a generic cigarette lighter in here? I'm not looking for perfection. Just function. My hazard switch I'll need to be careful with. Those things are $90!?

I am of the belief that anything can be Frankensteined. As far as the hazard switch I just purchased one for $25 used here on the forum. I say may a post and see who has what

My hazard switch is okay. I don't mind putting in a lighter that will fit. Would be nice if it lit up though. I have to have any money really. So I have to be very picky about what I buy and what I do without right now.
