I don't trust the local auto parts guys all that much in my town...I've had more "ohhhh of course it will work" then anything and then I'm making a trip back to return things.

Re: Still not running??
That kit should have the size that fits our injectors. Actually, the light labeled "Geo" fits our injectors better than the one labeled "Bosch" in my kit.

Thank you. I will have to pick that up tomorrow and try it out.
Re: Still not running??
So I got a injector tester and I tested the cold start and it looks good and that it seems it's just
Runnin off of that. How in the heck do you get the other plugs off? Do they have the wire on them too?
It's pretty hard to see in there?? Also my ground are connected but should I unbolt them and clean
Where they connect?

Yes, the injectors also have the wire keepers on them. The easiest one to reach is #1 so you can pull it. A dental pick works best for getting the wire clips off. It never hurts to clean the grounding contact points. You can check if the grounds are OK with an ohmeter, one end on the wire terminal and the other end somewhere on the block.
Have you checked the dual relay yet?
Ron
PS: It's good to see someone trying to diagnose the problem instead of throwing parts at it.

Re: Still not running??
With taking the injector clips off, I'm afraid I'm going to break the plastic while trying to take the wire off....
The car will fire and run for a few seconds off of the cold start so I'm guessing that my other injectors might be plugged or something? The car did sit for quite sometime with bad fuel in it. Back to the shop to try and get injector 1 off!
I don't want to throw any parts at it that aren't needed! lol This is my first car that I've really worked on, so I'm a little nervous about breaking anything and making the car a total loss

Re: Still not running??
sorry for all the posts...Got injector 1 tested and it looks good. In the picture I noticed that the rubber tube around that line is cracked and almost falling off...would this cause it not to stay running?

Re: Still not running??
The intake manifold set up differed on different years. On my car that line is small, and goes down to the fuel pressure regulator. It's going up on yours, where does it go? It's vacuum, so while it could cause the car to run poorly, it's doubtful that it's the cause of your car not running.

Coming in late here....you say you got #1 inj tested?? Methinks you just tested the electrical signal from the ECU?? Did the noid lite flash brightly??
You say you tested cold start valve...how?? did you physically pull it, crank engine, and watch the spray??

Re: Still not running??
Yes, that's what I mean is that I tested the electrical with a noid tester.
I also tested the cold start like this. But with the cold start all hooked up right, the car will fire and run for a second. but with it disconnected it won't turn over at all.

Re: Still not running??
Ron, that line goes up, and then comes back down and goes through the firewall somewhere? the other line off of it goes to the charcoal canister...at least that's what I think that is?
Re: Still not running??
If you have noid lighting up at injectors, and enough fuel pressure that the cold start valve sprays (engine start for a few seconds) possible that injectors are stuck or plugged. You can pull all the injectors and clean em yourself, or have them cleaned, or buy new ones.
Is also possible fuel pressure is dropping after car starts. Do you have a pressure gauge?? Can you hear the pump running??
