...an "AS" series car would be anything prior to 1970, I believe.

Yes I get that but trying to nail the year on this one down. Its claimed to be a 68, but I have my doubts. thanx. You got me thinking so I looked at my car. Its 124 bs, and its a 70. So I guess this is a 68 or 69, but it has later tail lights and side lights?

According to this it would look to be a 1968. Scroll down a little ways and there is a table with chassis # by year.

Is there a way to tell what month and day the car was built? My vin# is 124CSI0085430.

inside the drivers door "on mine "theres a tag and stamped into it is a date
mine says 11/77 thats as close as a date i found

also tail lights and turn signals have a date on them but just a year and they can be off

Rey. There is a 68 for sale near me. I went and had a look last year and it had the original 1438 with the centifical oil filter on the front crank and the tube driveline. The registration said it was a 68 as well. I don't know what other differences there are between the 68 and 69/70.

Narfire, there is the grill, the reverse light, tail lights, side lights,chrome on the seats, I think chrome on the gauges, torque tube, centrifigul oil filter, badge on the hood/,big nobs on valve covers, rear sway bay etc. I had doubts about this car because it has th wrong tail lights and side lights.

That looks more like a 73 or 74 model. Maybe the PO swapped the VIN plate? Look on the firewall for the VIN stamped in the sheet metal.

Thing is those side markers arent right for any year spider, so they tell nothing. Tail lights and rear bumper are wrong. It has side pipes and what looks like a later grill. Badge is on hood, that seems right. Cant see the interior though.

The car pictured has lots of incorrect items...the actual year it was made might now be a moot point!
