Help with a Little Part

Post by Exit98 »

My floor clean up and general interior sprucing up is coming down the homestretch. But yesterday I came across a problem that could leave a detail undone, unless some one in the Community can help me with a little part.

Next to the fan switch on my lower console (1976) is another opening where a little clear indicator that says "DEF FAN" is inserted and attached to a fiber optic wire. I've got the indicator but I don't have the insert it fits into. The hole has always been there and I hoped that when I pulled the console I'd fine it underneith, but no such luck.

Here is a picture of the console, the indicator, and the hole where the indicator holder goes. Does anyone have one of these to spare?

I think that that little clear plasic piece fits into the center console slot by itself and is a snap fit item. On an 82 it is verticle with the fan switch on the side not horizontal across the top so it could be different on your car. I would suspect that you would install it from the underside. With that said a dab of glue may do. I think that piece on my car will surface from under the console at some point when I need to go there again.

I like the green with white stiching. What color are the seats and dash?

No it definitely has some sort of a surround, probably black like the surround of the fan switch. The photo is decieving. The clear piece is much smaller than the opening.

Here's a pic of the interior.

There is a black thingy that slips in from the top that has two prongs that hold that in place. I do not have an extra one, but I saw it this week while working on my interior.
