Price for a new tranny

Post by JOEPROC »

I noticed in a recent discussion, a couple of you mentioned a price of $1300--$1500 for a new or rebuilt tranny. This is certainly much lower than anything I have come across. Can anyone out there guide me to a place one I can get one for that price? I have a 84 Azzurra. Thanks, Joe

On a related not. I think Vicks is looking at a replacement Lada transmission that fits into the 124 but is a little more rugged because of the angles of the gears. When I was over the shop on Saturday while in Forth Worth they were actually installing one of these transmission in Matt's car. May be a great alternative with better availability. Give them a call.

I got my Tranny from vicks. I paid a core and was refunded once my old tranny arrived. Midwest124 also is a good place for a used tranny. They sell rebuilt tranny and a few years ago didn't require a core because he had enough cores. Midwest is also cheaper than vicks. My dealing with Vicks was a good one. Ordered the Tranny and it arrived three days later. Came with GL-1, gaskets, and the seals. Took me a few hours to replace. I pulled my old one a few days earlier. Drained it and package it up in the box the new one came in and shipped it back. I think midwest runs about 950.00 if you buy it straight out. I see vicks has raised their price on tranny's. I paid about 1200.00 shipped to my house. They now run 1600.00
