Fuel Filter mounting

Post by spidernut »

Does anyone have a photo of what the mounting bracket for the fuel filter on a EFI Spider is supposed to look like and the order that the parts are installed? I checked my shop manual and it doesn't quite show what I need to see.

Here's what I have:

1. Body mount
2. Two rubber bushings
3. A "C" bracket that cradles the underside of the fuel filter
4. The cover that protects the fuel filter

I tried putting the C bracket on the outside of the fuel filter as pictured in the shop manual to secure it between the C bracket and the mounting bracket, but it won't fit. Even if it did, it doesn't have a corresponding curved base mount on the body mounting bracket.

It seems that there should be a second "C" bracket to secure the filter in place and it appears that it has a rubber strap around the fuel filter in the photo in the shop manual. Mine has neither.

I actually need a close-up of the fuel filter mounted without the shield on it so I can see how the hold down brackets are mounted. Thanks for posting the photo anyways because I can see that it does have the rubber bushings.

It appears from what I can see in the photos that the order that the parts are installed are:

1. Mounting bracket to the undercarriage of the car
2. Rubber bushings (2 each)
3. Fuel filter
4. C-shaped hold down clamp
5. Metal fuel filter guard

Does that sound right?????????
