Not a chance would be my bet, but not for any logical reason. CA is bankrupt, cities going under now with some regular frequency. 1/3 of all US welfare recipients now reside in CA. They need money from every possible avenue to stay afloat a little longer. Take a look at Brown's tax proposal regarding sales and income taxes and then watch 'em lining up at the border to leave. Absolutely beautiful state, my favorite after my home state, but (like us) run by lunatics.

With Governor Moonbeam at the helm, I doubt it will ever be signed into law. Doug LaMalfa is in my district and I really applaud his efforts to change this absolutely stupid emissions law. I own a 79 and 80 Spider. My 79 has 43,000 original miles and the 80 has 83,000 original miles. They are hardly ever driven. The environmental impact is nearly nothing. Heck I can't even get the emissions parts of the 79 if something were ever to need to be replaced.

I pray that it passes though. We need to get everyone in California to write the appropriate individuals to show how strongly we support the Senate Bill.

I wrote to all of the Senators on the Transpo committee urging them to send the bill to Senate since it will bring jobs and commerce to the state through an increase in the restoration business. That's the only chance to have it considered.
You can blame the smog situation on Gov Brown, but it was that idiot Arnie that ended the aging out of older cars.

If you're talking about Federal programs, it's actually about 22%, and the percentage has been declining.

And Mark's right; the current idiot legislation was signed into law by an actor who confused the name of the state with Cauliflower. Stupidity is truly bipartisan.

If any of you Californians are Hagerty customers, write the Historic Vehicle Association voicing your support. HVA is a subsidiary of Hagerty, and they are very active nationwide. They were instrumental in modifying a proposed Maryland law that would have had severe negative impact on vintage cars. In our case, they provided several bullet points suitable for inclusion in letters to our legislators.

Good luck to all of you with this legislation in Cali. It is interesting how one legislative change impacts so many different people in so many different ways. Cost to maintain, revenue for rebuilders and parts suppliers, tax dollars, Sales of Replacement vehicles, potential hardship for those driving older cars with limited resources, possible inovation to meet or exceed emissions standards on older vehicles.

it is interesting as California, Arizona, Nevada.... these are the states where older cars last the longest.

one of the provisions in this bill would reinstate the 30 yr dropoff. SEMA is very involved in this already, not sure if the HVA would help too much. SEMAs input is from the business/tax viewpoint, and that is what will register with state legislators
