Hi Matt,

Hose is about 7/8" ID, barb is ~1/2" OD. Haven't found a solution yet.

Thanks,
Mark

I used a piece of 3/4" OD hose. Slip it into the 7/8" hose and clamp. The inside diameter of the 3/4" OD hose is close to half inch for the fitting.

Thanks again everyone!

Here's were we are as of 4:45pm EDT: Studs came out with out a hitch, studs went in without a crossthread.

EMPI universal linkage kit is useless...

The kit's ball joint assembly wants a cable and the ball joint head's ferrule is too large for the 1978 124's linkage rod.

...It's going to be a long day at the parts and harware stores tomorrow.

The linkage kit does not require a cable. The kit does include a cable connector, but the kit contains many more parts than needed for a single carb. It contains parts for a couple of different types of linkage connections, thus the "universal" label.

Hi Joe,

Thanks again, my old carb doesn't have the parts I need for the DFEV.

I've got a short-short-term solution going, only need to get 3miles, and Mark's kit on order.

Thanks again,
Mark

that's why the kit has two ball studs in it, so that each end can be installed. One on the carb, one on the bellcrank

Hi Mark,

Your kit, which I don't yet have?

The Empi 43-0602-0 Uni-link Kit, which Empi and half the internet claim is all one needs, has one incorrect ball joint fitting.

I'm placing an order with you tonight, thanks.

Mark

Got it in.

Linkage is, as the Brits might say, bodged.

Sounds great! Goes almost like it should (8:1 CR...). The 4-2-1 manifold and this carb on a '78 are the best esthetic and performance value for dollar I can imagine.

Ciao,
Mark

okay, the Empi kit alone doesn't have enough parts. I somehow missed that you weren't using my kit
