My First Fiat

Post by FeeAught »

So, after joining this forum a while back, I am proud to say that I finally purchased my first Spider. It is a 1979 2000 Pininfarina and I absolutely love it. Fortunately, the engine is in great shape, as I know very little about the innerworkings of an engine. I'm hoping to learn a few things as I go. It is a grayish blue color with a light tan interior and ragtop and it seems as if it has been lovingly cared for in its lifetime. If anyone has any advice for a first time Spider owner, I am open to everything. Thanks in advance!

I will post a couple pics in a reply to this post shortly.

Obviously it is a California car...where you from? I saw one just like yours on Highway 65 near Roseville, CA over the weekend.

I am in Fremont, CA, and I wasn't up north, so my car must have a twin. :D

As for the gangsta seat, what is the best way to fix that? I read on another thread that a welding shop can fix the frame inside. Should I just find a new seatback and put the existing cover back on it? Remember, I am a complete novice. It is extremely uncomfortable as is.
