SanRafaelFaz, where did you get your rug?

I'm debating saving up for a set or cutting my own. I have all the original carpet, but it's tan. I'm changing the interior to black. I'd imagine my carpet is in pretty good shape. My car only has 62,000 miles on it and was driven by one of the POs wives. I'll probably clean it up good at some point, see how it is and sell it off. I may use it as a template. Who knows. Prices are steep for rug kits and some sound like they are cheaply made. I've also thought about dying the carpet... but I don't know.

i get the cheap stuff its like $20 or so
i dont worry about spills, burns,or grease
because i know ill just get more

i just did it again last year
BUT when i whent for a drive the tar under the brake pedal came right thru
all over my new shoe

once i used home padding 1/2"
it was soft and quiet in there

i dont have a pattern
so its a few slits here and there
remove a few bolts for belts
and lay down fronts in two peices
and one in the back its a bit of a pain
but i dont remove the seats or console
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

I've been in there. Does anyone sell a new heater door? Mine is a little rusty. I will probably just yank it out and weld a patch on or something...

I'm looking at these ones:

I think there are less expensive versions out there, but these look almost exactly like what I pulled out of mine.

My shifter boot is ripped and all the foam is nasty. Any suggestions on replacement? Is there generic boots I can use? Can I just use any type of foam? I have various pieces of foam around the house and in my studio. I removed the metal shifter boot plate, media blasted it and painted it. So that looks really nice. Everything is scraped up. Now I just need to go through, wire brush and clean everything really well. Then it's time for master series.

Here are a couple for you. I'm not sure what "foam" you're talking about, though.

based on what I was looking at the foam appears to be standard (almost like seat foam material/texture)

What about the larger piece though. Did you replace that?

Interesting. Is that from under the metal plate, which is under the wood deck? Because I don't seem to have that under mine.

Yes. Metal plate, then the rubber inner boot with foam attached to it like 4uall posted. And then the big foam piece. Keeps the noise out of the cabin. If I knew what kind of foam it was I could just cut one out. I have fabric store foam, but I don't want to find it out catches on fire or something with trans heat. The inner boot with foam will need to be ordered. :(

Everything goes under this plate. Which I just media blasted and painted. It'd wet with paint in this pict.
