Gas tank installation

Well after a long wait (about 5 weeks) I get my relined tank back tomorrow.Just for info it cost 140.00. I'll probably install it over the weekend. Is there any sequence in the start up again after being idle for 5 weeks. I know i have to change the fuel filter,and i wanted to change the oil but i want to do it with a warm engine so I'll change soon after. I changed the plugs and wires already.
Besides filling with fresh gas(is regular 87 octane ok) are there any other issues I need to be concerned with before firing up the car again. I missed all this great weather here in the northeast to take my new toy for a spin.

5 weeks is not that long, you should not have to do anything special. Because you are reinstalling the tank, once it's all done and filled up (87 octane is fine for a stock engine), you may want to hotwire the fuel pump and get the fuel lines filled, so you don't have to crank the engine endlessly.

How do I hot wire the fuel pump. I think that's the problem in getting it started . At least 20 cranks and nothing. I sees wire hanging near the fuel pump not connected to anything is that there for a reason?

5 weeks is not that long, you should not have to do anything special. Because you are reinstalling the tank, once it's all done and filled up (87 octane is fine for a stock engine), you may want to hotwire the fuel pump and get the fuel lines filled, so you don't have to crank the engine endlessly.

You don't need to hotwire the pump to fill the lines, just turn the key to on and the pump will start pumping. Wait about 30 seconds and the lines should be fine. then turn the key to the start position and try to start it.

On a fuel injected Spider the fuel pump only runs when the cars ign switch is in the start position or the engine is running. To fill the system and prug it of air I take the air hose of the air flow meter and hold the air flap open a little with the ign switch in the on position. Just listen for the pump and you will be able to hear when the air is all out and it is pumping only fuel.
There should be no wire ends hanging down be the fuel pump. If there is they most likly go to the fuel pump.

Yes it worked. The wire hanging down was from the fuel pump.
