R.I.P Malcolm

Post by dmwhiteoak »

On Tues. 2-21-12 I lost my best friend of 11 years. Some sorry S.O.B . gut shot my dog when I let him out to tend to buisness. You would think that owning 20 acrs. of land would be enough not to worry about stupid people shooting your dog. He was the sweetest and smartest dog that I have ever shared a home with. My daughter has just now got to where she is not in tears. This is a very lonely house now and only dog lovers will know what I mean . He was a pit bull and that was all he had against him. For the 11 years of his life he never growled or was aggresive to anyone but someone gut shot him because of his breed.I haven't been on here much this week as I have been investigating his murder. All prime suspects have been questioned but no clues to who did it. I want two things .For them to explain to my little girl why they killed her little brother.thats what she called him, And about 10 min alone with them. I am not happy right now and don't know how long it will be before things are kinda back to normal around the Modisette household. I hate to come on a Fiat forum to vent but I don't do facebook and It's hard to talk about it. So please everyone, keep a close eye on your 4 legged friends because its hell when your daughter finds your best friend gut shot in the back yard. Will keep you posted if I find the one responsible for this cowardly act. Thanks for letting me vent.

Sorry to hear. I breed Rotts, they too have a bad rep despite having and extensive history as working dogs, not for agression. I hope you figure this out for some closure.

Dennis,
My wife and I are dog lovers. I'm not sure what I would to if someone did to our little CJ what they did to your Malcolm. My sons played baseball with a coach whose pit bull Mindy attended every practice and game and was part of their team...a very gentle pup. I feel sick thinking that someone would take a gun to a dog. A gutless, senseless act. Sympathies to you and your family.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I just don't understand how someone could do that. So sad and disturbing.

Damn - it breaks my heart to read this. You just cant' explain that kind of cruel stupidity. Hope your daughter gets her smile back soon, and for what it is worth, from our own experience, a puppy goes a long way in putting that smile back in a kid's life. Mom's and Dad's, too.

Dennis,

I am sorry for your loss. To do such a shameless thing to an animal is inexcusable. Remember the good times you all had and hug your daughter...

Thanks everyone for your very kind regards. We are still struggling but time does heal all wounds. It's just so lonely here without him. Courtenay, Please keep CJ close because I would hate for y'all to go through the hell that we are going through.

From the direction he was coming from he was shot on mine or a 250 acr oil lease that the owners live far out of town. Everyone in a 2 mile radias knew him because we would ride the mule around the neighborhood a mile across the pond. He did not have time to go far. We have had peonies with trespassers in the past on 4 wheelers looking for something to steal. I'v got something for them if I catch them.

Again, very sorry to read about this. They become part of the family just like a son/daughter so losing one is very painful.
