Anyone know where to buy the boot button snaps?
Anyone know where to buy the boot button snaps?
I'm trying to figure out what's the proper way to install the boot for when the top is down. My boot has 2 button snaps, but my quarter panel covers don't have the other part for me to sanp it in place. Anyone have a pic and where can I get the hardware? Thx.

Ace had them but the stud size was limited. I bought 2 with a machine style screw and the other 2 sheetmetal type screws but the latter too small and the other one I need to drill a larger hole. Anyone know what type I should use the srew with the pointy tip or the machine screw type? Thansk. Will check Home Depot tomorrow.

I have one of each. The sheet metal screws(A) never loosens up.The 'B' type, was contantly coming loose.I would have put another 'A' screw in there, but the hole was already drilled too big! I put a nut behind it,and now it works fine.Definitely use the A type

If you can't find them locally, McMaster Carr has virtually every type of fastener available online. I've used them for these snaps, as well as many other upgrades on my Spider.

Home Depot didn't have them... do you remember what size you bought from their site? http://www.mcmaster.com/#screw-stud-snaps/=gig5ncbaltobernie wrote:If you can't find them locally, McMaster Carr has virtually every type of fastener available online. I just did this on my 72. The holes in the metal attachment brackets were too big for normal tapping screws, so I used the above and it works perfectly, throw some loctite on the threads, Measure your bracket thickness, mine was .009" and depth from center of hole to outer edge, I had .3"
