Flipping Fiats

Wow. This car sold on eBay last week for $9300.....saw it advertised on Craigslist this week for $13,000. If I could flip say....two cars a week at this profit margin I could quit my job!

I saw this ad on Craigslist earlier and the "transport" clause comes across as one of those fraudulent listings. I hear what you're saying about flipping Fiats though.

It hard enough selling parts the spider market is a funny one. One week you could sell a few things than go for months and not sell anything. I'm sure flipping them would be worse.

I was looking for a Manix style dune buggy a while back, I got a Kawasaki Ninja instead - I know - I wish I got the buggy too  But, I gots to appease my jones for the two wheels every once in a while. Anyway, back on topic. I found that many listings on ebay quickly become scams on Craigslist. Many of the dune buggies I saw for sale in some state far away on ebay were for sale locally on craigslist. Yet, the price was always less, not more! Hmmmmm. I guess it's easy to copy the picture and then post it on Craigslist with some sort of out of the country story. Plus, ebay has all the info about the item listed so the seller can act like he or she really is familiar with the car or boat or whatever. Good luck.

Since it says "still has factory tires on it," it would be a good candidate for another kind of "FLIP," when one blows out at about 75 mph. :P

Spiders seem so undervalued that flipping them always sounds like it could be a good idea but the problem is we love em so much we'd want to keep em all.

Seriously though, i started selling antiques at a very young age with my dad in NYC then with my wife in SF and when I got to Portland I saw a great niche in the vintage road bike market so I flipped a ton of those (in fact I sold the BEST ONE EVER, a NOS 1980 Richard Sachs that i bought in 2010) to fund the purchase of my "new" hobby, Francesco. So I know about flippin stuff. It's tricky with these cars though cause to make a buck they need to be "sorted" which obviously costs 2 bucks.

I think we are all lucky that we have (a) each other and 2) the "inside" knowledge that this is THE poor man's Italian Sports car to own. No offense to the rich men and women out there.

There are a few websites that seem to be flipping Spiders and more power to 'em but they are probably not selling like hot cakes.

That all said if anyone wants to start a small business flippin Spiders I'm in.
