Red Star and other Symbols

I've noticed that some of the postings have a red star on the posted icon. What does the red star mean and are there any other specialized symbols on the Forum? I suspect this is explained somewhere and I apologize for what may be a very dumb question.

No one else here sees any red stars. You are obviously out of your mind. Give me your Fiat before you harm yourself.

No, really, when you see the star, it means you are the lucky winner.

My band used to play at The Red Star in Framingham, and we used to see things all the time. It will go away eventually.

The red STAR indicates a thread w/ more than 25 replies.
The red DOT indicates a thread that you have posted in.
