Sometimes you just get lucky.
Went out yesterday to run the car and it wouldn't fire. I know the basics of how FI works, but I'd have to start at square one to figure out all the sensors and controls. So, with a sinking heart I popped the hood to start my diagnosis. Spark? Fuel? Timing? While I'm looking into the engine compartment, thinking which FiatSpider thread is going to help me, or will I have to post a "HELP", I glance at the coil and, son of a gun, the coil wire had come out! This kind of luck can only come from living a good life, and being true to one wife. (At a time) Ron

I had the exact same thing happen, only i was doing a cross country trip with my GF and my daughter in my '68. I was 2000 miles from home and miles from the nearest town. I feared the worst as it suddenly shut off while crusing down the highway. The last time a car had stopped on me in a similar fashion was when the timing belt broke on my honda.

Mine only does it to me when people are checking out the car. The #2 plug wire loosens and the car runs like crap.

My experience is that most "will not run" problems wind up to be pretty simple. If you have fuel, air, spark, and the proper timing of these you'll get something. What I hate is those intermittent glitches where the wife or says "It did it again today DEAR !" and you look at it and find nothing. ...J.D.
