Re: New Fiat 124 Spider
Yes, that is beautiful isn't it? Someone else had posted that pic a little while ago. It turns out that the car doesn't actually exist, it is a photo-shop job of a modern concept car. You can see that one in the earlier thread down the first page.

That is such a beautiful car, I do wish the folks at Fiat and PininFarina would take notice. I'd buy it today if it was available.

looks somewhat related to a Honda S2000, but pretty nice nevertheless. It would have to be fwd to fit into Fiats' existing platforms

Nice lines. Bummer about the front wheel drive though. I like the rwd.

Re: New Fiat 124 Spider
And this is what amazes me about the talent on these forums - an "average person" designs something this awesome and the car makers are releasing awkward tubs like the Solstice.
FIAT - TAKE NOTICE!!! This design would be absolutely awesome. I would also care less if it was front wheel drive. I just want a car with some real style and the retro look of our Spiders. Of course, I also want the performance of a Ferrari for the price of a used Yugo with the reliability of a Honda.

Re: New Fiat 124 Spider
How can Fiat not know that a modern, retro styled version of the 124 Spider would be a huge hit. Would be a perfect car to sit next to the Abarth 500 in the showroom.

Re: New Fiat 124 Spider
According to Road & Track, Alfa is planning to bring the Spider back to the US in 2014 as a rear-drive model. Fiat could easily do a retro spider based on that platform. BTW The undoctored picture from the origianal post on this car is the 2014 Alfa. http://www.roadandtrack.com/future-cars ... meo-spiderSo Cal Mark wrote:looks somewhat related to a Honda S2000, but pretty nice nevertheless. Re: New Fiat 124 Spider
I think the Saturn version was nicer. The grill on the Pontiac just reminds me too much of Josie and the Pussycats' car. I couldn't find the artwork on their car...but it is similar to Penelope Pitstop's car as pictured below.spiderrey wrote:Im sorry, but the soltice is one sweet lookin car. I always thought the saturn version was off. It didnt quit look right to me with the angular adds like the lights and trim. To each his own though.

Re: New Fiat 124 Spider
Just had to bring back this post because I ran across an article about the 2014 Jaguar F-Type Roadster. It looks remarkably like the doctored photo at the start of this thread. Maybe the designers at Jaguar are fans of the classic spider looks?

Re: New Fiat 124 Spider
I like it. Would be nice to have a bit of room behind the seats though. I guess with todays push-button drop tops with gears and shrouds, a bench seems to be impossible today.

But its a jag so it'll cost 10x as much and be half as reliable...
Re: New Fiat 124 Spider
Yeah, I remember this from the last time it was posted. If it were a true car, I would already have my pre-order in. It is truly an awesome design in my opionion. And, since I am giving my opinions - I also think that the Sky and the Solstice are really cool cars too. I almost purchased one used but went with a convertible Mustang GT manual simply because it is just so freaking cool and sooooooooo fast.
