winter is not all bad

Post by narfire »

The valley here is stuck in an inversion, cloud ceiling about 1000 feet above us and cold at -5 (28 F ?). Took Elsie and the dog bording with us while his parents are touring thailand for two months, up to Apex for some x-country on the weekend.
Not a cloud in the sky and about + 3 or more in the sun. Went back to the down hill area and sat in the sun at the bar for a cold one. A great day.

Took my other son out ice climbing the previous week for his first time.

Winter is not all bad if you don't mind adding a few extra layers. Still envy the people that are driving their cars now though.

yeah, but the people that can drive their cars year round don't get to appreciate the four seasons. We are still waiting for winter here but it's too darn wet to drive the Fiats.

Chris is that you on the ice fall? Way to go!

I gave up waiting for winter here in NJ. I'm just pretending its cold out. Car's off the road since Sunday to do the floors, heater core and other odds and ends.

Rather be driving it though.

Nope, not me. My oldest son wanted to try water ice. Had him on & in the glaciers a few years ago. Bit different ice there.

I'm puttering with the car as well. Got all the dash lights to work, put some of that indoor/outdoor carpet from Home Despot in and just finishing up the trunk.
Trying to get motivated to finish up a 72 I have on a hoist at a friends shop :?
