Convertible Top Strap Set Up
Convertible Top Strap Set Up
I had my rear seat interior side panels replaced and recovered and have now lost the area where the "hole" should be drilled for the top boot hook as well as the placement of the 4 "bolts" for the top straps. Also, I've never really seen the straps used and was hoping someone may have a picture of how it fits both when used and when not in use. If anyone has some pics of the set up and some measurements where the bolts and hole should go - it would be much appreciated.

The straps fit on the top latches when the top is down. If your panels have no holes at all, then you could hook the top of the strap into the top latch, and see where the bottom ends up. Give it a little tension and drill a hole where the lower hook ends up.

Re: Convertible Top Strap Set Up
Thanks for the responses - I'll go w/the back up plan of pulling down the boot and marking the spot for the hole (the panel was replaced w/a custom cut job so it doesn't have the holes). I think I can pull the straps into place and mark where those go as well.
I know the type of bolt to use for the strap with the "roundish" end; for the square end of the strap when it's not in use (convertible top up) to affix to the back interior panel - do you use the same type of bolt w/the screw in the middle? I think I must have gained an extra type of this kind of screw/bolt as I have 5 of them.
