In Northern, CA, we have 0% of normal rainfall. The Sierra Nevada mountains have 0% of the normal snow pack. Today, was really close to 70 degrees for the high and sunny as could be. Though it made for a great day sorting all the parts I've taken off one of my Spiders while doing body work, and gave me a chance to wash my other Spider, this is just too weird.
The best part is that I've driven my Spider in January with the top down and wasn't cold...didn't even need the heater running!

Re: California's odd ball weather
I relocated to SoCal from Washington state. Before I moved down here I called a brother who was teaching in Valencia (where Magic Mountain is) to wish him a happy new year. I asked him what he was doing for the day (we were freezing with a foot of snow) he said he was cleaning out the garage. I told him he was crazy, working outdoors in the winter. Nah, he scoffed, it's 70° here.
There's a lot of things I don't like about California, but the weather in SoCal makes up for much of it.

Roy,
I think it would be great to do something in April or May- warm enough but not too hot! I should have the 80 Spider done by then and it'll need to go on a maiden voyage.
It would be nice if we could time it in conjunction with some kind of historical event (Coloma Gold Rush days or something like that).

I'm not all that particular on timing and coordination.
Any reason to drop the top and cruise thru twistys for a burger works for me.

Yes, it's true. That is the thing I miss the most about living in SD. I rememer listining to that comedial Lewis Black I think. He said that the easies't job on the planet has to be the weather man in San Diego, CA. He went on to say that all the weather man could say was that the weather for the day was going to be NICE.
