ALASKA
Re: ALASKA
On and off over the last 6 months or so I've seen a Spider for sale, on Craigslist probably, in Juneau I think. He was asking some crazy number, $12K maybe, for a nothing special car. Not there at the moment though.
When we visited Juneau a few years ago I was amazed how many convertables were around. As you probably know Juneau is landlocked. Apparently cruising around the few roads they have is a pretty popular passtime. Guess there's not a whole lot more to do.
Where are you headed?

Re: ALASKA
Well, if I go it will be to Fairbanks. Far north of Juneau and what is known as the cracked windshield capitol of the US. I've been to Juneau. It's nice. The cars I recall are a bunch of rusty Subaru GL 4x4 wagons. Maybe I won't get to go after all.. but if I do there just might be a stillborn Spider project for sale in Austin..
Re: ALASKA
Nope. Forget I said that. If there are no Fiats in Fairbanks, once I get there, there will be one.

I've seen some Alfa's in Fairbanks, was there last summer. Temps in Fairbanks in the summer can range from the 70's to the 90's, beautiful place in the summer.
Re: ALASKA
Although Spiders are a lot of fun. Maybe in Alaska a nice IH Scout hobby would be better. Or, maybe a Bronco fascination.
Re: ALASKA
Haha yeah you might be right. And yes I'm sure the summers are a blast. No doubt you can really let a car sing up there.

Oh thats God's country!
Remember, you can make anything 4 wheel drive If not sell it and get a small plane. My uncle flew a float plane in Alaska for fishing trips, many years ago.

Ah yes-- Bush Pilot! Now there's a guy who wouldn't be afraid to drive a Spider year-round in AK!
