Aluminum Matte Silver Wiper Blades

Post by RedWolf »

Has anyone had any luck finding aluminum wiper blades for their Fiat Spider? I've only been able to find black or shiny chrome colored. Any help is much appreciated.

I bought some from spiderpoint a couple of years ago and they look nice. I don't remember how much i paid, i just remember being upset that the import duties cost me more the wiper arms did.
see page 49 of the catalog here: http://www.spider-point.com/framework.p ... /48/album/#

Arana - were they shiny or matte? I'm really trying to find the dull aluminum that matches the color of the wiper arm. I think the part that holds the rubber on my old ones is actually aluminum. (edited the subject to make it more clear)

My silver colored wipers are made of steel with replaceable inserts, the last ones I bought were over ten years ago so I don't know if one can even get them in a non black steel or plastic finish. I don't get out much but I don't recall ever seeing aluminum wipers.

My wiper arms are also silver painted on both of my Sport Coupes and it is a fairly matte paint which I don't know quite how I would replicate it. It is something I need to think about as there is some pitting/raised bumpy paint on the cast parts.

I believe Redwolf is looking for these type of blade holders:

I assume they are stock as they are made by the same company that makes the wiper arm "Arman & C"

The blade holders and wiper arms are steel with a matte finish chrome. I'm not sure how the matte finish chrome process works, but several other components on the car have the same matte finish chrome including the convertible top hold down brackets and recievers, the interior facing surfaces of the windshield frame, and some heater control betzels.

The wiper arms and blade holders are on my car, and were removed from a parts car. I'm not sure where you would find them new. As you can see they are a bit dirty and I need to soda blast them.

I think your best bet would be to find the black painted ones and then re-paint them with some aluminum silver paint. The cowel vents and dash vents on my car are painted the same way, looks good I think.
