Those are not 1979 door handles unless Fiat changed them mid year. I had a 79 that had the final generation handles. It looks like the car has had a lot of custom stuff done to it though. Could be he replaced the doors with doors from an older model. What year did they go to the bullet shaped pulls?

Actually they switched them in late '78 model year, sothere are some 1800 Spiders with the late door handles.

Vandor is right, I've got a mid year 78 1800 with late handles, late rear end and late convertible top frame
