What's under your seats?

pulled the seats out of the Spider today,in preperation for a seatswap/dyeing/reupholster(yet to be decided).I will post more on this and ask for some advice later.Anyway,under my seats I found 30 years worth of grunge,$1.44 in change,an alligator clip,a cheap bracelet,and....a corroded razor blade and short length of plastic straw!!!

Hmmmmmm. I will 'sniff around' for any further contraband.

I found one of these door hinge brackets that clearly had been sprayed to the passenger side floor in the factory when the car was made. I was firmly held down by that black plastic factory floor coating, with bare metal under it when I finally got the plastic chiseled out. (Too bad they couldn't have used that extra metal in a better door hinge design, then most of us would not be spending big bucks to fix them!)

Owned a chevy chevette at one point.. Not proud, just a fact. Bought it used with 80K for $150. I was stopped by the border patrol 25 miles in from the Texas border at a checkpoint because the dogs started acting up. They took the car apart on the spot and found a plastic baggie full of weed in the door behind the door panel. This was before we had a full blown drug war and I was able to show the recent purchase and registration paperwork in the glove box. They let me go on my way after a phone call home to verify my story. Never know what you will find once you pull a car apart. Your off to a good start.

I wonder what would happen today at a checkpoint with a baggie full of weed. No good! Times have changed!

when i got my spider,
i found about 8 pounds of sand in the car"being in the desert for tow years with a ripped up top"
in the trunk i found a hash pipe.
its a good thing the wy state police didnt find it when i stoped to put in some oil on an off ramp
and they felt like checking me out.
they actualy wiggled the vin tag"i still laugh about that"

ah yes, the first "under the seats clean out". step 1. check the forum on how to remove seats. step 2. clean thoroughly but do not look close at debris. ( not to tarnish image of your new italian lady) step 3. place debris in neighbors trash can on dark night.

Glad I'm not the only one with a time capsule/treasure chest under their back seat! After buying mine I lifted the backseat to vacuum everything out......found a nice pair of lingerie! Can't imagine it was very comfortable in that back seat, but props to a PO!
