Maximum dimensions; width: 80 pixels, height: 80 pixels, file size: 6kB.
For example, mine is 60 px x 59 px

If you have "Paint" on your computer, you can use this to resize.

you may need to reshoot your picture in a low res format to get it down to this puny of a picture. I have a photo editor i got with a scanner. If you want, send me the pix and i will see how small i can get it.

Yeah, I think I'm doing something wrong too. In order to get my avatar pic below the 6k threshold, I had to save it in .gif format which makes it very grainy. I see others with nice clear pics. The smallest I could get mine in 80 x 60 in jpeg format was still something like 31k. Am I missing something?

How I did it:
Download the IrfanView program and Plug-in package (homepage http://www.irfanview.com, also on Tucows, CNET, etc. and it's free), install and load the file. Under Image ... Resize,Resample... check Preserve aspect ratio and Sharpen after resize. In the DPI box, enter 300. Select Set new size ... enter in 80 x 80. The entries will auto adjust with the longest side being 80 pixels depending on whether the pic is portrait or landscape. Press OK. Then File ... Save as ... , enter a new filename (you don't want to overwrite the original) and on the JPEG/GIF save options flyout that will appear, select Set file size: and enter 6.0. Hit Save and you're done. You have to install the Plug-in package along with the main program to get the ability to set the file size.
Sounds complicated, I know ... but it's really easy, and if you do any manipulation of photos at all, it's an invaluable program. I've used it since Win98, probably once a day at least. Much faster than loading my full photo editing software.

Here you go, Joe .... 80x60, 6kb
