Prayers for my friend

Post by MrWampus »

On a very serious note, please pray for my friend who is right now having a crucial conversation with his wife. I wish I could say the conversation was about whether to buy the blue spider or the red one, but it is much more serious. I don't know how it will end up, nor does he.

No names, no details, just prayers.

I am hurting for my friend and his wife.

Thanks,

Jim

Prayers complete...I request the same for a friend of mine having one of those conversations as well today. We're also very concerned about them.

The fact thatyour friend's troubles are affecting so tells me you are indeed a friend in the truest sense of the word. Prayers are in order for both your friend and you, and he is lucky to have you in his court.

My deepest sympathies to your friend. However, I don't believe in prayer so I'm afraid I can't help you there.

Thank you for your continued prayers/thoughts/comments. My friend and his wife are at the beginning of what will be an extraordinarily difficult journey with no guarantee of how it will turn out. Right now he feels like he is on the edge of the abyss. For me, not knowing was the hardest part.

I was married for 20 years and now six-months separated. I can say now that what's "on the other side" is better than what my own marriage had become, but that was impossible for me to see a year ago.

I'm being very careful not to suggest a path for my friend. Every situation is unique. I only suggest that any decision must be made by he and his wife together. And once a decision is made, the really difficult work begins, no matter the path.

Thanks for the support.

Jim

Wow....parallel universes here! My friend is going through the same thing with the same emotions....and he has a friend named Jim. If you were in the same state as him, I'd think we were talking about the same person. I'll keep your friends in my prayers as well.

Know that it could be worse...at least they're talking. My son got a text message last week from his wife that she wants a divorce. He is shattered, shocked and saddened. He couldn't believe she told him via a text message...she didn't even have the courage to tell him to his face. Unbelievable!

Having been divorced and teaching Divorce Care for many years after, I can tell you there is probably nothing harder to go through including the death of a loved one. Hopefully your friend will not have to go through that. I have met many couples that have come out on the other side stronger but many more that never made it. Support from a friend like you is what both of them really need. Too often I have seen the wrong friend derail happy homes because misery loves company. The right counselor can do great but they don't have the time to spend with them that they really need. That's where good friends come in. Take many long trips with him in the Spider and help him figure out what is important in life. PM me if you need any help.
