Re: Fuel mileage
I get 27 mpg with a 32 adfa with elec. ignition. A mix of stop and go and hwy speeds up to 65. I think that is pretty good.

Re: Fuel mileage
Most recent tank was right at 21.6 mpg BUT that is all short trips (< 5 mi) around town in cold weather, rarely topping 50 mph and probably averaging closer to 35 mph, with a lead foot! In other words, under the worst possible conditions. I know highway mileage is much better (this is for the 80 FI car).

Re: Fuel mileage
Again, that is what I get under what should be the worst possible conditions, cold start, stop and go around town with a lead foot. I don't think I could get worse mileage if I tried as I basically put my foot in it every light. I imagine highway is high 20s to low 30s as I seem to recall averaging about 28 or 29 when I first drove it home from Illinois and I found out later that was with one injector basically dumping fuel constantly!124JOE wrote:wow and i wanted to switch to FI just for better mileage

Re: Fuel mileage
I'm going to have to look at my engine carefully in the spring (Car is up for the winter and I'm working on the 74). My 1981 FI car never gets more than 24 mpg. That's a mix of some 40-45 mph back roads, and a lot of highway at 65-70 mph. The 74 ironically gets almost exactly the same mileage: 23-24.
