Where to get Vintage type italian license plates ?
I want to find vintage Italian license plates for my 75 spider but the few places I found were very expensive . Any one know where to get them ??

Nice. I have one for the front that was in the trunk of a parts car I had. I now know what the back looks like time to see if I can make one to match the front.

I managed to smuggle a set out of Italy several years ago. I was warned by the local village garage mechanic, who gave them to me to be very careful because if I got caught at customs with them I would be literally stamping them myself on a daily basis......in prison !
Aparently its illegal to remove plates from Italian vehicles as they are "tagged for life" ie the plates are permantly fixed to that vehicle for the term of its natural life. Unless you moved into another region - hence the two letter prefixes (TO: Torino, MI: Milano) you then needed a notary to update your paperwork! All very official!!
Different now as all Italian registered vehicles have standard Euro-spec looking plates. You need to look hard to distinguish them from French or German plates.
